The Price Point
1 Bedroom + Den:
Completed in 2016, 383 Sorauren is a newer loft building with 142 units on ten floors. Instead of the hyper-modern metal and glass of Toronto’s new construction buildings, you’ll find a heavy emphasis on brick that helps the building blend in with its older neighbours. The result is an older-feeling exterior and a modern minimalist interior that’s unlike anything else in the city.
The building has most of the new-construction amenities you’d expect, including a well-stocked gym, concierge service, guest suites, and an outdoor lounge.
The units feel much more modern than other loft buildings, with finished walls, wood flooring, and no exposed ductwork. Don’t expect interior brick either; the only ultra-lofty feature here is polished concrete ceilings.
Still, the units are bright and airy, with minimalist features and clean design that’s perfect for ultra-modern furniture. Expect 9 to 10-foot ceilings, with open balcony space, new (but mostly condo-sized) appliances, remote blinds, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Most units come with balcony space.
Roncesvalles has a large Polish population and is becoming a foodie destination with an influx of trendy restaurants and cafes. Its small-town feel has made it popular with young families and dedicated farmers’ market shoppers. The area is made up mostly of older buildings, brick homes, and quiet streets with parks.
You can head to Mabel’s Bakery for amazing baked goods or Barque Smokehouse for some of Toronto’s best barbecue. Plus, the nearby Sorauren Park will have you covered for all of your dog walks, jogs, and playdates.
